Bitskwela Attends Thailand Blockchain Week, Global Ethereum Conference - Devcon SEA and Community Events in Bangkok, Thailand 🇹🇭

Thailand has rapidly emerged as a pivotal hub in Southeast Asia for blockchain innovation with its series of blockchain events. Devcon SEA (SouthEast Asia) took place in 60 Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Ratchadaphisek Road, Khlong Toei Sub-district, Khlong Toei District, Bangkok, Thailand spanning from November 9-17, 2024. Prior to the main event, Thailand Blockchain Week with the theme “Invest  Innovate Interconnect” happened in UOB Live Bangkok, Emsphere with side events from November 8-12, 2024. 

Both huge events as well as the side events welcomed everyone, both non-technical and technical (such as developers) attendees. DevCon SEA introduced and reconnected the Ethereum community while Thailand Blockchain Week highlighted developments in digital assets and blockchain innovations.

Main Events

One of the key highlights of the opening ceremony held on November 12, 2024 was the presence of Vitalik Buterin, the founder of Ethereum himself, to talk about “Ethereum in 30 Minutes” at the Main Stage, Level 1 of the main venue. 

Other speakers such as Aya Miyaguchi (Executive Director of Ethereum Foundation), Josh Stark (Ethereum Foundation Leadership), and Skylar Weaver (Devcon Team Lead) shared their insights on real-world use cases of Ethereum, updates on the ecosystem, and overview of Devcon SEA. Vitalik even danced along with Chinese music to celebrate Ethereum. 

There were other workshops, conferences and talks as well from the first day up to the last day of the event.

Bitskwela.dev in a Quick Hackathon 

On November 13th, 2024, a morning workshop entitled “BuidlGuidl - Intro to Ethereum Development, Build & Deploy your first dApp” was conducted by Speaker Austin Griffith - the founder of Buidl Guidl and a builder on Ethereum. This workshop is designed for beginners to learn the fundamentals of Ethereum development using Scaffold-ETH 2. Participants learned how to set up their development environments and utilize tools to deploy live applications, emphasizing the essentials of blockchain development.

Right after the workshop, a quick hackathon was opened to everyone, where Bitskwela lead developer Koleen Paunon, joined. It was a fun experience where developers and students tried to solve a bug as fast as they could and be on the leaderboards.

Side Events

Community-led events throughout Bangkok City spanned before, during, and after the main Devcon SEA event. The Bitskwela team attended these various side events , including the sub0 Opening Party, Ethereum SEA Day, REJECTED, Bored Apes in Devcon, Climb & Cuddle, The Best Event. DevCon BKK, AVS Day Bangkok, Project Playground, Injective Summit 2024, Circle Prodev Hackathon Showcase, and Pitch n' Slay Ladies Hour. These events provided valuable networking opportunities and insights into the Web3 space.

Bitskwela's participation in Thailand Blockchain Week and DevCon SEA further strengthens its commitment to staying at the forefront of the blockchain revolution. The team gained valuable knowledge, built strong connections, and actively contributed to the Ethereum community in Southeast Asia.
