The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) is set to elevate the Philippines onto the global blockchain stage with the announcement of the Global Blockchain Congress. This pivotal event, themed "The Philippines' Gateway to Blockchain Excellence," is scheduled for September 24-25 at the Bataan People's Center in Balanga City, Bataan.

The event is poised to redefine the future of blockchain innovation in the country, and is the result of a powerful collaboration between key stakeholders in the Philippine blockchain ecosystem. The DICT leads the initiative, joined by the Blockchain Council of the Philippines (BCP) and the Provincial Government of Bataan as co-presenters. DICT Undersecretary for ICT Industry Development, Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, shared her vision for the summit in an exclusive interview. Further, Jocelle highlighted also that it will bring together top experts in blockchain technology, including people who create new ideas in the industry and those who help make rules. The main goal, she said, is for these experts to work together to plan how the Philippines can best use digital technology in the future.
