How DevUp Academy Is Turning Students Into The Next Generation Of Crypto Users
Did you know that about 560 million people across the world use cryptocurrency? While that’s a huge number, it’s only about 6.8% of the world’s population. The remaining 93.2% either refuse to touch cryptocurrency or are even aware about it. Usually, it’s the latter.
Since the expansion of social media technology, the Philippines has been dubbed as the social media capital of the world. However, the country still faces challenges when it comes to adapting to modern technology, especially in the curriculum. In fact, some countries have already integrated blockchain technology education in its college programs to further upskill their workforce.
To solve this problem, an initiative called DevUp Academy aims to go school-to-school nationwide in the Philippines to provide relevant blockchain technology education. This includes the basics of cryptocurrency, introduction of Bitcoin, and smart contract development. This initiative aims to fill the gap of blockchain technology education to foster future blockchain developers and the next generation of crypto.
This unique initiative also looks to normalize the use of cryptocurrency, as it is currently facing a harsh stigma from the masses, referring to it as a scam. This way, the members of DevUp Academy, look to change the minds of the public on how they view cryptocurrency, starting with students.
