Web3 gaming is the new exciting thing around the block! It offers many opportunities for earning and actually owning one’s own in-game assets. However, many gamers hesitate joining blockchain games because they worry about having to spend money upfront. But, not all games do this! Wild Forest is an example of a free-to-play-to-earn (F2P2E) Web3 game where players don’t need to put down any money to have a good time.

What is Wild Forest?

Wild Forest is a real-time strategy (RTS) blockchain game where players compete with each other in a fast-paced PvP battle. Featuring a variety of animal-like characters, players summon units, build structures, and capture territories to destroy the enemy’s main base.

Getting into Wild Forest is fairly simple as users don’t need any Web3 knowledge to begin playing. It acts like most mobile games that anyone can easily download on their phones. Whenever Web3 elements do pop up, the game explains these thoroughly to newbies. Wild Forest also has dedicated onboarding programs to help Web2 gamers transition easily to their Web3 elements such as their play-to-earn (P2E) mechanics.

Play Wild Forest for Free!

Wild Forest is free-to-play meaning any gamer can just pick it up and play without having to pay anything! Unlike other crypto games where one has to initially buy NFT characters just to start playing, Wild Forest automatically gives players units by advancing in the free Battle Pass. They can later mint these units to NFTs and sell them if they prefer. These unit NFTs are essential to gameplay, each having their own strengths which players use to take down their opponent’s base. Each unit also has its own unique look, rarity, and attributes. They can also be leveled up and ranked up to increase their stats. While more rare and powerful units are sold for high prices in the Mavis Market, the game also offers many opportunities to get units for free!

Battle Pass

Wild Forest’s Battle Pass is a seasonal reward distribution system. Through participating in battles and completing in-game tasks, users get access to different prizes. While having a premium tier, which requires purchasing with $WF tokens to get more exclusive rewards, the free tier rewards are more than enough to get going. The free tier provides unit NFTs, unit shards (to level-up units), unit skins (which can also be sold on Mavis Market), in-game currency (Gold), and other resources as players progress through levels. By just playing the game, users are able to collect units, which they can use in their gameplay. They can even sell these NFTs to other players to make some extra income!

Leaderboard

Believing in competitive gameplay, Wild Forest also rewards its most dedicated players. Their leaderboard gives prizes to top players for their performance every season. High-ranking players earn Trophy Packs, which contain valuable prizes like $WF tokens and unit NFTs. These Trophy Packs can also be sold on the Mavis Market.

The higher one ranks, the more prizes with higher rarity one can get. For example, each unit is classified into 5 rarities: common, uncommon, rare, epic, and legendary. Higher rarity units have better stats and can even get unique abilities in the form of Perks (only for epic and legendary units). Ranking higher on the leaderboard gives a better chance to get better units, which can significantly improve one’s gameplay.

Epic and Legendary units can also be sold for immensely high prices on the Mavis Market, ranging from the low hundreds to even thousands of dollars! For example, a player was able to sell a legendary shotgunner unit for 700 RON which is around $1,250. By rewarding players for time spent in-game and improving their skills, Wild Forest avoids becoming a “pay-to-win” game and gives anyone the chance to earn top units.

Wild Forest doesn’t believe in having to keep a game behind a paywall. If a Web3 game is great, players support its economy despite it being initially free. By offering their game to everyone at no cost and even providing different free ways to progress, Wild Forest keeps their game as inclusive as possible. Gamers looking for a fun and free Web3 game where they can even earn should definitely check out Wild Forest!
