SubWallet, a popular cryptocurrency wallet, has launched new updates for both its browser extension and mobile app. These updates add support for more blockchain networks and improve on their existing cross-chain features.

What is SubWallet?

SubWallet is a non-custodial Web3 wallet designed for Polkadot, Substrate, and Ethereum ecosystems. It offers seamless multi-chain asset management, cross-chain transfers, NFT support, and staking across 150+ networks. Built on Polkadot.js, SubWallet enhances UX/UI for smooth blockchain interactions via a browser extension and mobile app, with a web wallet coming soon. Users can sync wallets across devices, explore decentralized apps (dApps), and buy crypto with fiat. Prioritizing security and privacy, SubWallet is also open-source and audit-verified by Verichains. It supports hardware wallets like Ledger, Keystone, and Polkadot Vault.

Unified Account Now on Mobile

One of the biggest additions in this update is the Unified Account feature, now available on the SubWallet mobile app. This feature allows users to manage assets across multiple blockchains with just one account. Instead of switching between different accounts, users can aggregate and track their tokens and NFTs across over 200 networks (including Ethereum, Polkadot, and TON). With a Unified Account, SubWallet makes managing multiple portfolios much simpler.

New Blockchain Networks Added

SubWallet has expanded its support by integrating several new blockchain networks, including:

  • Autonomys – A blockchain for AI-powered decentralized applications (dApps), backed by Pantera Capital.
  • LAOS Network – A universal Layer-1 blockchain designed to create and manage digital assets across all Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) chains.
  • JAMTON – A Layer-2 solution for the TON blockchain and a Polkadot parachain, offering DeFi tools and staking services.
  • Analog Timechain – A blockchain focused on seamless interoperability between different networks.
  • Lens Protocol Testnet – A decentralized social media platform where users own their content.
  • Sophon Testnet – A zero-knowledge (ZK) Layer-2 blockchain that enables scalable and low-fee transactions.
  • Abstract Testnet – A Layer-2 network designed for consumer-friendly blockchain applications.
  • Ink Mainnet – A Kraken-backed Layer-2 blockchain built for decentralized finance (DeFi).
  • Soneium – A blockchain project powered by Sony for collaborative content creation.
  • Celo Mainnet & Alfajores Testnet – A mobile-friendly, carbon-negative blockchain designed for real-world applications.
  • G6 Networks – A blockchain focused on real-world integration and security.
  • Gnosis Chain – An Ethereum-based blockchain operated by a global validator community.
  • Frax Finance Mainnet – A rollup using the OP Stack to enhance Ethereum scalability.
  • Deep Brain Chain EVM Mainnet – A decentralized AI infrastructure blockchain.
  • Rootstock – A Bitcoin sidechain supporting EVM-compatible smart contracts.
  • Cyber – A Layer-2 blockchain optimized for social applications.
  • Etherlink – A Layer-2 solution powered by Tezos Smart Rollups.
  • DIA Lasernet Testnet – A trustless oracle network delivering verifiable data to blockchains.

New Token Integrations on Polkadot’s Asset Hub

Polkadot users will also benefit from the addition of new token integrations such as:

  • Acala Network – A DeFi-focused blockchain offering liquid staking and liquidity solutions.
  • Bifrost – A liquid staking platform that enhances staking rewards and DeFi flexibility.
  • Hydration – A next-generation DeFi protocol unifying swaps, lending, and stablecoin features.
  • Manta Network Pacific – A privacy-preserving Layer-2 ecosystem for Ethereum.
  • Base Mainnet – A Layer-2 network built by Coinbase for scaling Ethereum applications.
  • Optimism (OP Mainnet) – A Layer-2 solution that reduces Ethereum transaction costs.
  • ZKsync Era Mainnet – A ZK rollup for fast, cost-efficient Ethereum transactions.

Improved Cross-Chain Support and Swaps

To make cross-chain transactions easier, SubWallet now supports ETH and wETH transfers between Ethereum, Polygon, and Polygon zkEVM via the AggLayer Unified Bridge

Additionally, in-app swaps are now available for Bittensor ($TAO), an open-source AI-powered blockchain, through SimpleSwap.

These updates are currently available for the SubWallet web browser extension v1.3.8 onwards. Support for mobile & web dashboard is currently in development.

New Integrations

SubWallet now supports fiat onramping for Vara Network through Banxa. This makes it easier for users to buy Vara tokens directly with traditional payment methods like credit/debit cards. Banxa is a regulated crypto payment provider, giving users an easy and secure way to convert fiat to crypto. Banxa also offers competitive rates and multiple local payment options.

The platform also now supports NFTs on the Story Protocol Odyssey Testnet, allowing users to store, manage, and interact with digital assets from the Story ecosystem. Story Protocol is designed to onramp intellectual property (IP) on-chain, enabling creators to tokenize and monetize their works more easily.

SubWallet’s update also comes with new support for Ledger wallet users by offering integrations with Avail Recovery app, Vara Network, and Polimec Protocol.

Improving on the Ecosystem

Having regular updates like these highlight that SubWallet is consistently trying to improve their platform in different ways.

The introduction of the Unified Account simplifies multi-chain asset tracking, eliminating the hassle of switching between accounts. Expanded blockchain and token support ensures greater inclusivity, allowing users to interact with even more blockchain networks. Enhanced DeFi and NFT functionality makes the wallet more attractive for both yield farmers and collectors. Additionally, improved cross-chain transactions and the integration of a fiat onramp make it easier for users to move funds and onboard into the crypto space.

Wallets are no longer just a space to hold crypto. They’re a way of integrating with differ ecosystems and exploring Web3. Through constantly adding more features, SubWallet helps the blockchain space become much more interoperable.
