Introducing Joerald Pepito, a Web3 leader who’s taking on many belts within the Web3 space. Firstly, he is the founder of The Cryptology Academy, a platform focused on Education, Research, Information and Community building in the crypto and Web3 space. He is also the head of research at Web3TV, market analyst, and an expert in Web3 content. His achievements and journey within Web3 has greatly contributed to the growth of Web3 in Bacolod as he aims to increase Web3 exposure in his community.

Can you give us a background of what you do?

I used to be a teacher in one of the Universities in Bacolod City, where I taught Finance, Business, Philosophy and Entrepreneurship. I am the founder of The Cryptology Academy in 2019. The platform focuses on Education, Research, Information and Community building in the crypto and Web3 space.  Currently, I hold positions as the head of research at Web3TV, a Dubai-based media production, a research and market analyst at Everse Venture Capital, and Head of Content in its sub company. I'm as well actively involved in speaking engagements at local and national conferences, discussing topics like Finance, Business, Blockchain, Crypto, and Web3

What made you interested in Web3?

I used to be a teacher in one of the Universities in Bacolod City, where I taught Finance, Business, Philosophy and Entrepreneurship. As someone passionate about financial technology, I became fascinated by how the technology behind crypto could disrupt traditional finance. I introduced this concept to my students, even though it wasn't part of the official curriculum. Over time, my interest grew, leading me to establish The Cryptology Academy in 2019. The platform focuses on Education, Research, Information and Community building in the crypto and Web3 space.

How is working/building in Web3 different from other industries?

I have used to work in other industries before and they have differences in terms of culture, opportunities and goals with Web3. Corporate culture often involves hierarchy and is mostly structured in terms of commands. Web3 is different, the space operates on decentralized principles, fostering a more collaborative and inclusive culture. Also, I find web3 space laidback, friendly and easy-to approach culture.

What’s your proudest achievement in Web3?

My most significant accomplishment in the space is establishing "The Cryptology Academy". It goes beyond being just an educational platform, evolving into a thriving organic community where we share great opportunities with our members . This is because I firmly believe in the value of community in the web3 space.  TCA’s commitment is evident, we remain active even during those challenging bear markets to keep the community momentum. With a dedicated and passionate team, we are committed to community growth. Currently, we have an ongoing development, anticipating an exciting substantial revamp with long-term updates for TCA. This is something that you should look forward to.

What is the biggest problem that you believe Web3 can solve?

Honestly, Web3 can solve many big problems, and I want to talk about its impact on finance. Finance is a huge thing, but not everyone can have easy access to it. Web3 is a game-changer, especially in areas like micropayments and helping more people get access to financial services from a global perspective. With Web3, we can make small payments easier and cheaper, making it better for people in developing countries and communities that don't have a variety of financial options.

What’s your BTC price prediction in 2030?

Think about this: there are only 21 million Bitcoins in existence. As the world's population keeps increasing every year, having a limited supply makes Bitcoin special. I believe it's already a winner. Looking into the future, I think there will be a shortage of Bitcoin, which could make its value increase a lot. So, in six years, I expect one Bitcoin to be worth at least $450,000. That's my cautious prediction.
