Web3 Leader Spotlight of the Day: Kaye Labay
Your Web3 wins can build real-world wealth — if you’re bold enough to take the first step. From one dreamer to another: don’t let your “what ifs” stop you. You’re closer than you think.
Kaye Labay is a dynamic force in the world of digital marketing, Web3, and entrepreneurship. As the founder of a digital agency empowering crypto projects and the co-founder of Payxn, a rising crypto payment platform, Kaye is on a mission to make Web3 accessible and impactful — especially for the Filipino community.
With a heart for education, a flair for content creation, and a growing Airbnb business on the side, Kaye is redefining what it means to be a modern-day multi-hyphenate. This feature dives into her journey, her purpose, and how she’s turning bold ideas into real-world impact.
Can you give us a background of what you do?
Hi! I’m Kaye Labay, and I run a digital marketing agency that helps crypto projects fuel their online presence through strategic marketing services. I’ve had the privilege of working with amazing founders, helping them grow communities and launch campaigns that actually convert. I also do content creation to educate Filipinos to understand Web3, digital marketing, entrepreneurship and side hustles.
Outside of marketing, I also co-founded a startup called Payxn, a crypto payment platform that helps businesses accept crypto payments. And on top of that, I manage an Airbnb business with my partner Carl, called Cozy Kkum, which means “Cozy Dream” in Korean. We started with one unit in December 2023 and now we’re proud to say we’ve grown to four units — and counting.
What made you interested in Web3?
I’ve always been curious about innovation and how tech can reshape industries. When I discovered Web3, I saw it as a place where underdogs can win, where creativity meets opportunity. That freedom to build something from scratch, without needing permission? That was powerful for me. Web3 opened doors for me as a creative, as a founder, and eventually, as someone who could build wealth digitally and bring it to the real world.
How did the idea of converting crypto gains into real estate come about?
It started with a mindset shift. After some good wins in crypto — plus some losses that kept me grounded — I realized I didn’t want to rely only on charts and tokens. I wanted something tangible, stable, and income-generating. That’s when I thought of Airbnb.
I asked myself: “What if I could take profit from the digital world and plant it in the real one?”
And to make that full circle, we incorporated Payxn into Cozy Kkum — so our guests can pay in crypto too. It’s been such a fulfilling experience seeing people from the Web3 space stay in our units and pay with crypto (USDC Solana Network for now). That’s the dream right? From digital to physical, fully integrated.
How did your partner get involved—was it a shared journey from the start?
Yes, Carl has always been supportive of my crazy ideas, but like most couples, we went through a season of “sige pero wait lang ha” energy. We spent a year just overthinking. What if no one books? What if we lose our savings? What if we fail?
But eventually, we realized: the longer we waited, the more we were delaying lessons we needed to learn. So we said screw it, let’s try. And that decision changed our lives.
What was it like building in both Web3 and real estate as a couple?
It was chaotic but so rewarding. One day we’d be in meetings with a dev team for Payxn, the next day we’re buying curtains for the new unit. We had to learn how to wear multiple hats, but the magic happened when we realized we could merge both worlds. Building in Web3 gave us the capital and connections. Real estate gave us stability. And doing it together made the journey even more meaningful.
Were there any challenges or disagreements, and how did you overcome them?
Of course. We had arguments — about timelines, design choices, budgets, even how many plants to put in a unit. But we learned to listen more and assume less. We didn’t just divide tasks — we made decisions together. When we focused on our shared vision, it was easier to move forward.
And now, we’re not just running businesses — we’re mentoring others too. We’ve taught over 200 students how to start their own Airbnb side hustle, and we’re just getting started.
