Introducing Shan Sebastian, also known as “Shan Ty” in the Web3 space. He wears many hats in the Web3 industry, and his most notable role is being the CEO and Co-Founder of Nara Labs Consultancy. He has also been helping Filipinos navigate the cutthroat world of freelancing, helping people understand what it takes to enter freelancing and how to scale it. In this feature, we venture into how Shan Ty came to become an industry leader in Web3.

Can you give us a background of what you do?

Right now, I am a startup Founder, and a Community Builder. I am also a Lifestyle Coach, Entrepreneur and a Digital Marketing Consultant. Know more about myself and my achievements here.

What made you interested in Web3?

I am a fan of technology. I love being able to discover how technology improves our way of Life, and so when I discovered Web3 – blockchain technology utilities, how cryptocurrency works and solved a lot of centralized concerns, It piqued my interest to learn more about it.

How is working/building in Web3 different from other industries?

It’s challenging yet purposeful. It's never easy in this industry as we are talking about emerging technology, especially here in the Philippines, we are quite late and delayed when it comes to proper adoption to innovation. Filipinos are mostly consumers rather than creators. So trying to make a statement regarding this tech revolution is something challenging.

I am hopeful and I do believe we will get there.

What’s your proudest achievement in Web3?

Aside from working with Global Clients as a Digital Marketing Expert, I am now building my own startup project, NARA Labs, we are now building our SaaS product alongside our crypto accounting services. 

We are also about to launch our first ever Crypto Accounting Course whereas we empower Finance Compliance Professionals like Accountants and Bookkeepers to learn to build careers in the Web3 Space. I am proud that we are the first ever to do this in our Country.

If there’s something you would like to change in your Web3 journey, what would it be?

Well, I am not regretful for my journey, definitely there were many bad experiences, I got scammed, I almost got ousted by someone I trust in my own company, I got ghosted by team members, a lot of times, I felt I was a failure, I am not yet on my success, I’m still far from it that’s why I have to continue on hustling.

The journey won’t really be a journey if you don’t fall and fail, it’s always part of the journey. But if I have to tell myself that I should not do it, it’s to trust people easily. I’ve learned my lesson, especially in talking to or collaborating with the right person or company.

What’s the biggest problem that you think Web3 can solve?

While I am not vocal of my political perspectives, I can say it can solve - Corruption in all means possible

If there’s one thing that Web3 can really bring light to is compliance to regulations. Elections, Accounting, and Transparency.

What’s your BTC price prediction in 2030?

Predicting the exact price of Bitcoin in 2030 is highly speculative and subject to numerous factors, including global economic conditions, regulatory changes, technological advancements, and market sentiment.

That said, many experts and analysts have made predictions ranging from $150,000 to $1 million per Bitcoin by 2030.

So for me, let’s be on the optimistic and realistic side. I do believe we can hit up to 300K USD to 500K USD by 2030.
